Why is the game lagging and what can I do about it?

If you're having problems with lagging, there are a few tips we can offer:

Desktop:

1. Make sure you have a good internet connection. You can check your internet speed at speedtest.net - we recommend at least 20mbps speed for smooth play.
2. Make sure no one is streaming or using high bandwidth games on your internet line. Programs like Spotify, Youtube, Netflix, and Zoom may impact your bandwith.
3. Try disabling any add-ons or extensions on your browser.
4. Close all other tabs.
5. Try an incognito tab.

6. You can check your server ping by going to the in game settings, selecting system, and at the bottom of the menu list there is a title "server selection" - most users have it on auto, which will select the lowest ping time, but you can experiment and see which server your game is the smoothest on. When you join a friend in game, there will be bars next to their name which will tell you how long the ping is, as you would be joining whatever server they are playing on.

7. For web players using Google Chrome, check and see if you have hardware acceleration enabled in your browser (google it for specific instructions for your browser).

8. Web players can also try to lower resolution to 1365x768 or even lower.

9. Go to whatismybrowser.com and check to see if your browser is out of date. if it is, please install the newest version. This is essential for Google Chrome.

Mobile:

1. Make sure you have a good internet connection. Ideally, wi-fi connection versus mobile data.
2. Make sure no one is streaming or using high bandwidth games on your internet line.
3. Close other apps or temporarily disable any apps that run in the background.
4. Make sure you have the latest version of the app. 

5. If you are having issues on a mobile device, make sure that LBS is the only app running on your device. We do not recommend playing LBS in a web browser while using a mobile device.

Both web and mobile players can try reducing the load on their device by reducing the in game graphics and textures by deselecting high quality graphics and textures in the in game settings page under System - Graphics.
